i used to like rurik... until i got better and learned more. now he just makes me think of some newbie in ascalon thinking of a 13-19 FDS as godlike. and yes a rurik vs gwen battle would be very entertaining... gwen would have a special shout, it would be "Flower Power!"- once 5 red iris flowers are obtained, Gwn combines them, then throws the 1 uber flower in the air. The flower then explodes, annhilating everyone and everything in a 2 foot radius.<---- thats uber godlike right there lol Rurik's special skill could be a shout too. the shout would be "For Ascalon!" - When you activate this skill, you do -999999 damage, and attack 100% faster. energy 0 recharge 0

My guild leader thought up a good reason to hate Gwen. She destroyed Ascalon that's why.

At the end of one of the beta events (God those were fun), Gwen basically appeared everywhere and killed everyone with tons of fire. All beta events don't just end in everyone disconnecting. Everyone is killed in some way, shape, or form. I remember one time tons of giant worms appeared from the ground and ate everyone. One time everyone shrunk to microscopic size and everyone randomly said "ArenaNet Rules!" or something of the sort. One time there was some huge fireworks thing that I can't remember. GW really knew how to work their beta. =)

I'm bothered by the fact that there are no children in Ascalon except for Gwen.

What this implies about the Ascalonian reproductive cycle is terrifying. Gwen is the protocharacter; the ur-PC. Every player character must have been grown in vats, using cells harvested from Gwen and genetically modified. The evil race conducting this experiment is unknown. Some speculate that it's the Mursaat, harvesting Ascalonians for food and idle sport. I personally think it's the moa birds. (Think about it. They have got to be smarter than they look.)

In any case, the procedure -- which has now been performed millions of times -- is always painful to Gwen, and has obviously left her insane. She has the mind of a child, certainly, but a child subjected to endless agonies. Is it any wonder she breaks her flute and discards it, then yearns for it once more? It reminds her of the syringe. The tattered cape she gives you is not meaningless. It is the shroud on which she dried her tears, and when she destroys us in fire once again, it will show us the image of her face.

Gwen is not to be hated. Gwen is to be loved, for she is the Mother Of Us All. But she is more to be feared, for she is a vengeful god. And Gwen is....ugly..and just a little kid. But I dont hate her, she's funny and better than presearing newbs, so I'd better have Gwen with me in pre.

holy smokes I leave and I get post galore. Well it is obvious some hate her some don't but now atleast I got some idea. She is pretty cool but I belive she will have a bigger part in Guild Wars maybe 3 or 4.

As has been mentioned, Rurik is the one to be hated! I just don't like Gwen because in the beginning I had problems with her following me, then when I told her to stop she kept following me for a hort while but long enough for me to get annoyed.

I went to get a quest... I talked to said quest lady (ya know that hunters horn thingy ya fill at the spring and so forth) and suddenly I was stuck for 10mins before she FINALLY skipped off to the side releasing me ;_; Hell spawn!
